As most of you know, I'm not a fan of usb and blue tooth keyboards for portable devices, as they eat up battery life. Having said that, I kept seeing advertisements on here for the RiVO keyboard, and since it's designed for the blind, curiosity got the best of me. I discovered that there is a version for Android, so I decided to read the manual. I like the fact that there are special buttons for the actions that are usually performed with a touchscreen. Am I correct, then, in assuming that this keyboard can completely replace one? Regardless, the one thing that I didn't like was the lack of actual letters and the use of numbers for writing them. I have a blue tooth keyboard for my Nexus 7 that's quite large, considering the size of the device. But I also have a usb one, built into a case, that fits it quite nicely, and which makes the machine look like a tiny laptop! But of course, it's a mainstream keyboard, which still necessitates the use of the touchscreen. Does anyone know if there is another physical keyboard that I can use that has the buttons for simulating touch, as well as actual letters on it? I think that would solve my problem. Android itself seems like a decent system, once I get passed this hurtle.
okay, here is a article on android's keyboard support. Read it carefully and go from there: link: http://www.howtogeek.com/175267/the-htg-guide-to-using-a-bluetooth-keyboard-with-your-android-device/
I just read the entire article, and while there are definitely some good shortcuts, this still doesn't address my main question. The RiVO has keys and commands specifically for emulating actions normally performed on the touchscreen. Is there another such keyboard in existance, but with individual letters on it?
